About Us
Savage Turtle Studios consists of the artists Quaylak and JakeJynx.
Quaylak works on the 2 and 3 dimensional art, and they work collaboratively to create most of the fursuits. Quaylak is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelor's degree in animation. She specializes in character design, concept design, storyboarding, and animation. She currenty resides in Savannah, working as a web design contractor for a large corporation. She enjoys watching movies, spending time with her many animals, and working on art projects.
JakeJynx (or just Jake) is currently attending Armstrong Atlantic State University, majoring in Biology. He enjoys playing video games, working with his hands, and learning new things.
The Studio
Our studio is made out of our home. We've dedicated the largest room in the house to working on all of our projects. Quaylak typically works at the computer desk, while Jakejynx uses the rest of the room for working on fursuit parts. All of our tools, foam, and fursuit supplies live in the large, walk-in closet in the corner of the room. Our sewing machine is hiding on the table just across from said closet, behind the huge rack of fur.
The Kids
Meet our kids! We love animals and have quite the family. It's tough finding a babysitter for all of them when conventions come up! ;)Spartacus is our 2-year old chihuahua. He's quite the "rough and tumble" little dog, and is far from a "fashion pet." He's ready and willing to wrestle and play all day long, if you're up for it!
Niles is our eldest child. He's ten years old (I've had him since he was a tiny kitten, back in 1999). He's primarily made of fur and fat and is quite the monster. He was definitely our largest pet, until Bea Arthur entered our lives.
Kitty is quite the bug-hunter, which really comes in handy in the summer! She's a two-year old domestic short hair who is definitely our most shy and reserved feline.
Pete is by far our most angry child. He is a small, crazy betta fish who always tries to pick fights with anyone who crosses his tank. He'll even jump out of the water during feeding time to try and take a bite out of you!
"Snake." Her name was originally Miss Hiss, but we just started to refer to her as Snake, so it stuck. She's a 2-year old ball python who's probably over two feet long now.
Our rats are both females and are both extremely friendly and lovable. Darwin is a common rex rat (the black and white one) and Mim is a dumbo rat, or "fatrat" as I like to call her.
